Real-world data (RWD) in ophthalmology plays an increasingly important role in clinical research and health care decision making. Generally, RWD is observational data obtained outside regulated clinical trials and generated during routine clinical practice.
The Real World Data in Ophthalmology Summit was conceived to address the methodology of real-world studies, highlight sources for these studies to be completed, and to demonstrate best practices that both researchers, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies can achieve. The series of virtual events will focus on all topics related to RWD including presentations from recent meetings and conferences which highlight how RWD is actively being appraised.
This activity is supported by an independent medical education grant from Genentech and Regeneron.
