Real-World Data Ophthalmology Summit

November 21, 2026

Live Webcast

Overview

The 4th annual Real-World Data Ophthalmology Summit will take place live virtually on Saturday, November 21, 2026.

Real-world data (RWD) in ophthalmology plays an increasingly important role in clinical research and health care decision making.  Generally, RWD is observational data obtained outside regulated clinical trials and generated during routine clinical practice.

The Real World Data in Ophthalmology Summit addresses the methodology of real-world studies, highlight sources for these studies to be completed, and to demonstrate best practices that both researchers, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies can achieve. This summit focuses on all topics related to RWD including presentations from recent meetings and conferences which highlight how RWD is actively being appraised.

Target Audience

Retina Specialists, Ophthalmologists, Vitreoretinal Fellows, Ophthalmology Residents, Medical Students, Allied Health and Basic Scientists.

Educational Objectives

Describe the role of real-world data (RWD) in assessing the long-term effectiveness and safety of novel retinal therapies.

Compare the strengths and limitations of real-world evidence (RWE) in complementing randomized controlled trials (RCTs) for guiding treatment decisions in geographic atrophy (GA), neovascular age-related  macular degeneration (nAMD), and diabetic macular edema (DME).

Interpret findings from RWE studies on treatment adherence, clinical outcomes, and disease progression in patients with retinal diseases.

Apply insights from AI-driven image analysis and real-world imaging data can enhance clinical decision-making and treatment monitoring.
