       Virtually – 6:00 AM PT / 9:00 AM ET

The 2nd annual Real-World Data Ophthalmology Summit will take place live virtually on Saturday, November 16, 2024, starting at 6:00 AM PT/9:00 AM ET.

Real-world data (RWD) in ophthalmology plays an increasingly important role in clinical research and health care decision making.  Generally, RWD is observational data obtained outside regulated clinical trials and generated during routine clinical practice.

The Real World Data in Ophthalmology Summit was conceived to address the methodology of real-world studies, highlight sources for these studies to be completed, and to demonstrate best practices that both researchers, physicians, and pharmaceutical companies can achieve. The series of virtual events will focus on all topics related to RWD including presentations from recent meetings and conferences which highlight how RWD is actively being appraised.

Target Audience

Retina Specialists, Ophthalmologists, Vitreoretinal Fellows, Ophthalmology Residents, Medical Students, Allied Health and Basic Scientists.

This activity is supported by an educational grant from Genentech.

Educational Objectives

  • Explain how RWD can augment clinical trial data.
  • Describe how real-world disease treatment patterns impact outcomes in patients with retinovascular disease.
  • Identify gaps in care through RWD studies.
  • Use RWD studies to inform practice decisions.
